- Hyde's first handguards had a standard square "over the counter" bar profile
- Aluminium grade was soft/workable
- Standard vacuum-formed black plastic shields
- Plastic shields had 3 mounting points on the aluminium bar (holes in the bar weaken its strength)
- Simple, over-lapping anchor inserts
- Broad clamps, not fitting bar taper well

- hyde designs own custom bar profile
- uses harder grade of aluminium compared to standard bars making them substantially stronger
- new sleek black powder coated finish
- plastics shields now injection moulded for a smooth finish & available in all colours (black, white, orange, red, blue, green, yellow & pink)
- new expanding anchor inserts making for stronger, more stable fitment
- new narrow clamp profile

- hyde now uses highest tensile strength aluminium that can be manufactured in anneiled form
- bars manufactured & then heat-tempered for ultimate strength
- plastic shields now mounted to bar with cup washers & now allows for only 2 mounting points for extra strength
- new handguards available for the same price and comes with additional plastic shields
- new packaging & great overall appearance
